Ways SERVPRO Guarantees Our Work

2/25/2019 (Permalink)

At SERVPRO we guarantee the quality of our work in a variety of different ways. One such way that this is achieved is through ensuring all our materials have ample time to acclimate to the room they are being installed in. When a material acclimates, its physical temperature changes to match that of it environment. Because of this, the material needs to be stored in the same room that it is being installed in. This is critical for several reasons. Not only is the material much easier to work with once it has properly acclimated , but it helps to eliminate any possibility of problems arising with the final result. Naturally, materials will continue to expand and contract as their temperature changes. If the material is installed before the acclimation process is finished, any number of problems can occur. A few examples are the buckling of floorboards, gaps forming in-between individual sheets of drywall, and paneling getting a ripple-like effect. These problems not only cause aesthetic issues for a project, but the material must be completely replaced. Every material must acclimate for a set amount of time, depending on what it is made of. The minimum amount of time that any material needs to acclimate is twenty-four hours; however, others take much longer. Hardwood plank flooring needs to acclimate for three to four days; snap-lock laminate flooring has a minimum wait of forty-eight hours. As a local construction company we care deeply about providing the best service to our customers and community and as such, our Construction Project Managers are always here to answer any questions you may have about your project!
